Fan Loops
Creating Loops
- Before you can create Fan Loops you need to have an Afid Mobile account. Click here to set one up if you haven’t already got one.
To create a Loop you need to be logged in to your account and in the Loops and Messages section. Then click on the Manage my Loops link on the left hand side of the screen.
Under the My Loops heading you will see a Create a new Loop option. Click this to open up a box where you can name your new Loop. We suggest a name that relates to the sort of messages you will be sending to people who get into your Loop.
A random eight digit code is automatically generated for new Loops. The invite code is what people text in to join your Loop. If you click on the name of your Loop you can create a new random invite code or set a specific 3-8 digit code of your choice.
You can also set a Loop welcome message for people who join that Loop to receive along with the standard Afid Mobile Loop join confirmation message.
Sending Messages
- To send a message to a Loop or to an individual contact you need to be logged in to your account and in the Loops and Messages section. Click the View all my Messages link on the left hand side of the screen.
Click on the Loop or Contact that you want to send the message to and type your message into the box at the bottom of the Message Viewer where it says “Type your new message here….”.
To send your message immediately to people’s phones as a text message click Yell. To send your message so that people get it when they check for it on their phone or computer click Tell.
You will see your message appear in the Message Viewer and how many people’s phones it has been sent to.
You have options to hold, expire, extend and (for Tell messages only) limit how many people can receive them.
Receiving Messages
- People who join your Loops can send you messages from their mobile phones or computers. You can see their messages in the Message Viewer when you are logged in to your account.
Managing Your Account
- When you click on Manage Account you are taken to the area where you can change your profile, your details and credit your account online.
To credit your account online you will need a valid credit card. Click on "Credit your account" under your account balance then select the amount you want to credit to your account.
You will be taken to a secure processing page where you can enter your card details.
If you are a business and do not have a credit card we suggest you get an NZ Post Prezzy Card or contact us to arrange an alternative method of crediting your account.
